Best Picnic Spots in Sydney

The weather is warming up in Sydney and Sunday afternoon is feeling more and more like the perfect time to lie in the sun and sip on some great vino, say less! Decision fatigue is real, so we have put together a few of our fav picnic spots so you don’t have to. Weather it's a beach or nice garden, parking access, picnic tables or peace and quiet, we’ve got you covered for every occasion.

1. Cremorne Point

Tucked away at the edge of Cremorne is the beautiful Cremorne reserve that has stunning views of Sydney’s most iconic landmark. The locals won’t be happy we are revealing Sydney’s best secret, but it is the perfect spot to set up for the day, quiet, easy to park and pure bliss. This also makes for the perfect winter spot; sun hits the hill and it's tucked out of the wind. It feels perfect to pair with a nice glass of our red blend and a blanket.

2. Berry island

Another one of our personal favourites, a park with water views located in Wollstonecraft. Super easy to access by the train, bus and all-day parking. This serene spot is dog friendly and super flat, perfect to set up a game of Finska paired with a nice cold pinot grigio or just enjoy the peace and quiet

3. Wil Ashton Lookout

The most perfect spot for enjoying all Sydney has to offer. Immerse yourself in the rich history of Australia as well as taking in the nature and incredible views at the spot. Located in Sydney’s north, just a minute walk from Waverton station, it’s a spot you have to check out! A charcuterie board paired with our pinot noir is a crowd pleaser for this tucked away spot.

4. Centennial Park

Centennial Park is a popular choice for picnickers, and you can tell why. Offering vast open spaces, picturesque ponds, and plenty of shaded areas under the trees. This park is perfect for family outings but also caters for peace and quiet. If you are preparing for a picnic but don’t know what to bring make sure you check out our blog post on ‘elevating your picnic experience’.

5. Nielsen Park

A historic park with a beautiful beach, Shark beach making this spot the perfect summer location, picnic, and a swim, what a movie! Warning; when entrusted with our perfect pinot grigio in this spot you could never want to leave! The park is well prepared with picnic tables, BBQ areas and shaded zones. Arrive early in peak season as it can usually get quite busy.

6. Wendy's secret garden

Tucked away in lavender Bay, Wendy’s secret garden is the hidden gem (maybe not so hidden anymore thanks to TikTok) that offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city that surrounds. This beautiful garden was created by Wendy Whiteley and features winding paths, vibrant flowers and intimate picnic spots surrounded by unreal greenery. The garden overlooks the harbour so really what more could you ask for the perfect picnic! This is our favourite spot to bring a journal or colouring in, the creativity can’t help but flow here!
